The landscapes of central Thuringia are ordinary, beautiful, highly efficient and intensively used. Usages are optimized and specialized. This specialisation often leads to fragmented landscapes. The goal of the spatial vision is to present central Thurigia as a whole and to show interconnections between different layers of specialized landscapes. The metaphor of a “landscape venture” was created helping to both acknowledge the economic driving forces and to rethink landscapes as a venture of society. Multi-layered landscapes with interfaces of innovation offer starting points for projects fostering interconnections and multidisciplinary approaches.
