The design for the old graveyard evokes an atmosphere of reflexion and calmness. Some of the old gravestones remained on the ground, flowering perennials mark the change of the seasons. This could all happen because of the commitment of the “Bürgerstiftung Vreden”, a charity supported by citizens. Stein+Schultz did not only do the design for the new garden but facilitated the dialogue with the owners of the plots and the public. Commissioned by Bürgerstiftung Vreden, 2008.
